DesktopLive is the next step in business computing. No longer do you have the stress and hassle of owning and managing your own server network. You no longer have to worry if you are licensed legally. Managed Networks takes this all off your shoulders.
You already have your desktop hardware (whether laptops or desktops, PC or Mac), printers and broadband connection; we provide:
- Microsoft Office 2003
- Microsoft Word 2003
- Microsoft Excel 2003
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2003
- Microsoft Outlook 2003
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- 5Gb file space
- 1 Gb e-mail space
You have your own desktop hardware, printers and broadband connection.
This option suits established businesses where you dont want to lose your investment in your existing desktop or laptop hardware. You do, however, have to take responsibility for the continued operation of the desktop kit and your broadband connection; we can discuss a separate support agreement for this equipment if required.
DesktopLive is designed for companies with either no hardware or for those looking to have a complete hardware refresh. Managed Networks provides you with everything you need:
- thin client machines with screens, mice and keyboards.
- one colour laser printer for each 5 users.
- a suitable broadband connection for your main office.
- 5Gb of data storage per user
- 1Gb of email storage per user
- Your users each get their own Windows desktop and access to the following applications:
- Microsoft Word 2003
- Microsoft Excel 2003
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2003
- Microsoft Outlook 2003
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0

Additional applications
Managed Networks recognises that other software is used and we are happy to provide this to our clients. Any other Microsoft products can be added to the above options for a simple monthly fee and examples of this include:
- Microsoft Access
- Microsoft Publisher
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Visio
Some non-Microsoft products can be added, such as Adobe Acrobat Professional; if you have other software, please call us on 0800 783 6170 to discuss.
Industry specific or mission critical software may need a dedicated server.
Dedicated Servers
Managed Networks is happy to provide or host dedicated servers within our hosting environment for a simple monthly fee. Any server hosted by Managed Networks will be proactively monitored and checked in the same way as it would be if on a client site; with these checks ensuring the server continues to operate in an optimal manner.
If you do not yet have the server, we can easily supply and install the server and software for you.
