Fairacre Properties


1. Background
Fairacre Properties is a property company delivering financial returns through direct investment and asset management, in both the UK and Germany. Fairacare works independently and with joint venture partners, such as Bank of Scotland, RBS or Nationwide.

2. Problem
Fairacare Properties were moving office and their existing desktop PCs needed replacing. It was decided to use the office move as an opportunity to replace the desktops so that the new network could be built in isolation and also so that the desktop operating system and applications could be standardised.

3. Solution
Five new desktop PCs were installed and configured with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional and Microsoft Office 2010 Professional providing the customer with the latest Microsoft desktop software. A new Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Domain was installed and configured to which the desktops were connected. The network consisted of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 running Directory Services; Exchange 2010; Remote Desktop Services for remote access; and Blackberry services.

4. Benefit
All the customer data and user profiles and configuration were successfully migrated from the old Domain. Fairacre benefitted from deployment of a highly-efficient and time-saving IT infrastructure.
